This article examines the potential of social enterprise to address the long-term sustainability of NGOs in Latin America & the Caribbean, and Central & Eastern Europe & Eurasia.  NGOs in both regions have started to explore social enterprises as a way to free the organization from constant funding pressure in a context of donor exodus.  The article highlights the work of the WDI's Social Enterprise Initiative in assisting these NGOs and disseminating best practices.
