Program Overview:
In today's fiercely competitive business environment, operations management has become an important competitive tool. This program is designed to introduce you to cutting-edge models and practical tools for effective design and management of operations. Special attention will be given to topics including: effective inventory control, distribution and logistics management, and partnering with suppliers and customers to reduce costs and increase service levels. Recent developments and methods for successfully utilizing e-business in supply chain management will also be discussed.
This program is designed for senior-and middle-level managers with responsibilities such as supply chain management, distribution management, inventory control, e-business, and procurement. Consultants or general managers who would like a broader understanding of how different parts of supply chains fit together will also find this course valuable. Managers responsible for implementation of new information, decision support, and enterprise resource planning will also benefit from this program.
As a participant in this program, you will:

Faculty Bio:
Izak Duenyas is Professor of Operations and Management Science at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. Professor Duenyas is interested in supply chain management and coordination, evaluation of investment decisions in flexible capacity, and in modeling and control of production systems. Duenyas serves as area editor in Manufacturing, Service and Supply Chain Operations Area of Operations Research and as associate editor for Management Science. His research has been funded by NSF as well as private industry. He has also consulted with/provided training at many companies. He has been awarded the Executive MBA Teaching Award by the Ross students and the "Researcher of the Year" award by the Ross School. Professor Duenyas holds a PhD from Northwestern University.
